BHALE DONGALU MOVIE REVIEW

After a hit like Nuvve Kaavali, Tarun and Vijayabhaskar reunite once again in a remake of the hit Hindi film Bunty aur Babli, a morale booster for the yet-to-succeed Tarun.

The son of typical middle class parents (Chandramohan and Sudha), Ramu (Tarun) wants to become a businessman, while his father wants him to land a steady, decent job. Ramu solves his problem by running away from home.

Meanwhile, Ileana, a business magnate's daughter, also runs away from home, as she dreams of becoming a model but her grandmother wants her to get married.

Tarun and Ileana meet on a train going to Visakhapatnam. They are cheated and lose their luggage and money. Therefore, they resolve to cheat others to survive, later graduating to bigger items like expensive jewellery.

While going to Hyderabad in search of richer victims, they run into a cute child suffering from kidney failure and decide to pay for her treatment.

Their modus operandi in Hyderabad is leave their signature 'Romeo and Juliet' in all their crime scenes. They steal from Veerraju (Pradeep Rawat), a local goonda without being aware of his identity. Now he's hunting them down. Even DCP Yugandhar (Jagapati Babu) is chasing Romeo and Juliet.

Now the hero and heroine want to retire from their hazardous life of cheating and start an honest business. They also provide rupees nine lakhs for the treatment of the poor girl with kidney failure, whom they had met on the bus to Hyderabad.

The suspense of the film lies in anticipating what happens next. Will the two con artists, the partners in crime, go scot-free or will they get caught and punished?

The film has been scripted well and is a laugh-fest, though much of the movie defies logic. That's the hallmark of a good entertainer! Tarun has good comic timing, having honed his skills over the years. Ileana, has carried her role very well without exposing, appearing in a variety of costumes. Jagapathi Babu as the DCP has carried his role with his usual style.

K.M. Radhakrishnan's music has a couple of foot-tapping songs with good choreography. The action scenes are done with style.

Charmi, Pradeep Rawat, Mallikarjuna Rao, Brahmanandam, M.S. Narayana, Sunil, Venumadhav, Narsing Yadav, Sudha, Sana, Hema, Annapurna are the others in the cast.

This movie is a big career boost for Tarun.
